Job Description:

We are looking for a Network Quantitative Engineer to join our network infrastructure team to support the expansion of our global network. This team is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting one of the world's largest and complex networks. As a Network Quantitative Engineer, you will have a unique opportunity to influence network planning decisions, shaping the future network to accommodate hyper-exponential growth as well as internal product requirements.



Network Quantitative Engineer Responsibilities:



  • Work with large, complex data sets around the Meta data infrastructure and solve difficult ad-hoc analysis problems.

  • Design, develop and deploy automated data pipelines to support prototyping and proof-of-concept efforts across the team.

  • Design, build, test, and deploy ML and simulation models, understanding the key outputs and providing statistical analysis of results.

  • Build data insights and visualizations for demand, capacity and performance which will enable decision making to internal partners.

  • Drive end users on ad hoc data usage and be a subject matter expert for analytical solution development across the team.

  • Leverage the Meta software and infrastructure to develop efficient models and analytics.

  • Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Network Planners, Software Engineers and Network Engineers to understand their data needs.





Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ total years of experience in a highly quantitative field.

  • 4+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data, scoping problems, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across various stakeholders.

  • Experience leading large-scale projects in the area of machine learning, demand forecasting, network analysis, performance metrics or operations research for demand-based networks and server fleets.

  • 4+ years of experience in one of the following languages: Python, R.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with large datasets, building scalable analytics and/or data pipelines.

  • Experience with statistical data analysis, queueing theory, non-stationary process analysis including knowledge in SQL, R and/or Tableau.

  • Partnership experiences with other engineering teams and service teams.





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Graduate work experience (masters or PhD in a highly quantitative field).

  • Been involved in building an end-to-end data-driven product, specifically as it pertains to network analysis and operations.

  • Prior experience working with time-series data and capacity planning.
