The Assistant Store Director (ASD) of Operations will drive operational excellence within our Mars Retail Group Stores, while exemplifying passion and role modelling the One M&M'S brand and purpose. They strategically drive results to ensure success and accountability in every aspect of store operations, guest experience and people leadership.
The ASD of Operations has responsibility for leading Mars Retail Group policies, procedures, Quality, and all food safety requirements in store.

  • PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
    • Act as a Great Line Manager, using the Five Principles in all decision making
    • Create a fun and inclusive environment where Associates feel comfortable being their true and authentic self at work, in a "fun kind" way to bring out the best in each other
    • Provide direction and hold leaders accountable for achievement of operational objectives and goals
    • Create the strategy and execute training and development of all Associates, with support of the Store Director
    • Assess, evaluate, train and coach Managers and Supervisors to operational excellence through the engagement and productivity of our Associates
    • Support in identifying, developing, and leveraging existing talent in store for effective succession planning
    • Adapt leadership approach and demeanour in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations, including peak/slow seasons
    • Exemplify The Five Principles and Associate Concept
    STORE OPERATIONS
    • Adhere to and role model all Standard Operating Procedures
    • Create an environment that drives operational excellence throughout the store
    • Accountable for presentation excellence to ensure all areas of the store are well prepared (neat clean, organized, operational and safe), allowing guests to shop with ease
    • Manage the reduction of waste across all areas of the store
    • Ensure auditing events are completed by the leadership team, to local and/or company standards
    • Drive Quality to achieve compliance in food regulation, local regulation, and auditing

  • BUSINESS RESULTS
    • Lead in analysing daily and weekly sales results to business objectives and pivot if necessary
    • Maximise profitability to identify potential opportunities for growth
    • Support in the development of strategies and plans to achieve operational growth through business analysis, action planning, effective communication, and consistent accountability
    • Responsible for upholding and coaching on all Mars Retail Group policies and procedures, plus local regulation adherence, including attendance and timekeeping, food handling guidelines, Quality, loss prevention, and safety/emergency procedures
    • Support continual growth of the business via effective talent, retention, and recruitment management

  • The role of the Assistant Store Director of Operations works in partnership with the Flagship Store Director, and is crucial for overall success of the store in achieving operational goals, developing talent, and an Unforgettable Guest Experience.
    Success is found in this role through exceptional leadership skills, driving for results, and delivering on Key Business metrics, not excluding the importance of developing one's own skills and the continued development of direct reports.

Total rewards at Mars includes base pay, competitive benefits, and annual bonus (if position is eligible). The full-time pay range for this role is:
USD 85,028.00 - USD 127,542.00
