Position Overview

As the Sales Operations Specialist you will be responsible for covering vacations for Warehouse Managers and Field Service Technicians. You will be responsible for the daily management of operations and equipment services staff, the execution of replenishment, receiving and inventory transactions, in addition to providing and overseeing daily customer service to the sales organization. You will also repair, maintain, install and remove brewing and serving equipment according to established company policies, procedures and standards. You can expect to interact with customers on a daily basis, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with the sales team.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities


  • Plans and assigns work assignments for warehouse and field service staff, ensures all tools and resources are available, properly working, and procedures are followed.
  • Oversees daily processing of transactions for receipt, transfer, and issue of product, equipment and parts.
  • Ensures quality checks are in place for all inbound and outbound activity.
  • Reviews and evaluates inventory reports for alignment with inventory goals, service level gaps.
  • Ensures security measures are in place for the securing of company assets.
  • Enforces company safety policies and monitors work habits of subordinates.
  • Prepares and reviews accident reports, enforces safety regulations and suggests safety improvements.
  • Schedules and conducts monthly safety meetings.
  • Schedules and performs special and periodic inventories to include cycle counts, truck inventories, and upon request, by SKU or category. This includes product, equipment, parts, and POS.
  • Performs root-cause analysis for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends to management actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Supports other warehouse managers by assisting with inspection audits for other locations.
  • Stays up to date on FDA compliance and ensures the warehouse passes all inspections.
  • Ensures the location is following the Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • With direction from customer and/or route salesperson, identifies proper placement of equipment; and installs or removes equipment while utilizing plumbing and electrical skills where applicable.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and utilizes proper troubleshooting techniques; dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; and examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices; lubricates and cleans parts; and starts devices to test their performance.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on devices.
  • Initiates internal purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Responsible for maintenance of assigned vehicle, including but not limited to cleanliness, inspections, scheduled maintenance, etc.
  • Responsible for managing parts inventory; maintains bin of labeled defective parts and maintains warranty eligibility.
  • Responsible for proper opening and closing of work orders, invoicing non-serialized equipment, issuing parts, and placement and pick-up of café equipment utilizing a handheld computer device.
  • In the absence of a manager, investigates and reports damage caused by company owned equipment to customer property.
  • Completes bench work orders as directed by supervisor.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • May be requested to perform different or additional duties as assigned.


Position Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from four-year college or university preferred

  • Five or more years related experience in Consumer Packaged Goods preferred
  • Three years related experience in HVAC, electrical, or small appliance repair preferred
  • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill experience requirements at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources

  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical fundamentals required
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must have an acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel; and syndicated research data systems

  • This position spends 75% on the road traveling to customers therefore all the travel responsibilities come with that including flights, rental cars, hotel stays, etc.
  • Field Sales Environment- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds (with assistance of lift or by two persons) and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds (with assistance of lift and by two persons).
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Is frequently required to stand.
  • Is regularly required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
