Our team is working hybrid, and this position will be onsite 3 days/week in any of the following three locations: Northridge, CA; San Antonio, TX or Fridley, MN

This position will provide financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis of operating expenses and capital expenditures primarily for the Diabetes commercial function.

You will work closely with key stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, Quality, Operations/Manufacturing, and others. As part of your role, you will work on projects to improve expense tracking, analysis and reporting as well as gain exposure to other aspects of the organization.

A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Performs and analyzes financial activities such as variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning, rates of return, cash flow, and other investments
  • Prepares and present monthly analysis, commentary, and forecasting, including key drivers, performance metrics, risk and opportunities to management
  • Provide key variables and analysis to identify actions to close expense gaps to target
  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting and analytics that can be leveraged across the organization.
  • Partner with finance colleagues to develop the annual operating plan (AOP) and re-occurring forecasting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key functions including: FP&A and Corporate Finance
  • Participate in month end close by performing cost center analysis, JE postings, reconciliations, and other ad hoc activities as required
  • Leverage insights to make continuous improvement to the existing workflows

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have:


  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) work experience, including sales expenses analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify key trends and drivers.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize systems/data to provide insightful analysis and implement recommendations.
  • Class III Medical device experience
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple and conflicting deadlines and priorities
  • Strong business acumen: ability to learn/understand the business and influence key stakeholders at various management levels to drive and increase value to the organization.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently with limited manager oversight
  • Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate financial data into concise information for management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships
  • Experience with projects that require high matrix collaboration, building relationships and influence.
  • Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP, Essbase/Hyperion & Business Objects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
