Job Description:

Leer Group is currently looking for a temporary full-time Loader/Forklift operator. This position will work M-F, from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. with occasional overtime and Saturday work. This position is temporary for a period of 3-4 months with the potential to convert to regular full time.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Assist the Transportation Manager with all activities related to the delivery of outbound customer orders, including shipping/delivery functions, coordinating RMA returns to the factory in Mexico. Keeping our Heber Yard organized, clean and inventoried for Cross dock or return of goods. The position is also responsible for applying TAG's corporate policies and ensuring compliance and accurate reporting of all DOT and FMCSA and/or any other State and Federal governmental regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Yard Organization: return goods (Caps, Spare Parts). Unload daily return of caps with forklift and consolidate to one trailer to be documented for return across the border to Mexicali plant. Reduce multi trailer returns with parts for quick trailer import back to the Mexicali factory.
  • Keep yard organized and consolidated utilizing return trailer & onsite racking for clean efficient tracking of material while in Heber.
  • Cross Dock not delivered product to be added to the next outgoing load to avoid route delay and cross border additional costs.
  • Daily yard inventory of loaded and empty trailers available
  • Working with the onsite Customer Service/ Transportation coordinator evaluate inventory of inbound RMA & Spare parts on a continuous basis at Heber.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):


  • Experienced Forklift driver
  • Proficient Bi-Lingual Spanish / English
  • Occasional travel is up to 10% -Ability to Visit factory in Mexicali, MX if needed.
  • Exhibits flexibility to adjust to changing or difficult situations.

  • Other duties as assigned by management or Director of Transportation.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years' experience on a forklift, loading / unloading flatbed, and dry van trailers.
  • Experience using a power impact wrench.

  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA preferred.
  • Knowledge of Import /Export border processing
  • Experience in Trailer Pre-trip walk around audits.

Required Education: High School
