POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Tax Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the entire payroll tax operations of LBMC Employment Partners, LLC. This includes internal federal, state and local payroll tax processing for all of our payroll clients. The position ensures payroll tax staff provide superior customer service to our clients in the administration of their payroll tax needs. This position is a member of the management team and works closely with other department leaders to improve processes, resolve problems, and ensure client satisfaction.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Directs and oversees tactical and strategic payroll tax processes of the organization, ensuring sound advice and counsel is provided to our internal team as well as clients.
Ensure the infrastructure is sound to accommodate aggressive growth plans.
Responsible for vendor relationships related to our payroll tax software.
Plans and directs the work of the payroll tax team ensuring all work is performed in accordance with IRS and other taxing authority guidelines.
Ensures excellent customer service is provided to clients by payroll tax team.
Ability to communicate effectively with all taxing authorities and to relate any issues with team and/or clients.
Communicates with clients when needed to address escalated issues/concerns.
Coordinates with other departments leaders on direction and processes.
Gives input to and assists in process improvement implementation.
Attends industry seminars to stay abreast of payroll and payroll tax changes.
Maintains confidentiality of company, client, and employee information.
Ensures proper handling and distribution of company funds.
Reacts productively to change.
Performs other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the payroll tax team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred; a minimum of five (5) years payroll tax management experience; payroll certification is preferred; CPA designation is desired but not required; and/or equivalent education or experience in job related activities is required. UKG and Mastertax experience is helpful.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions. Position is subject to overtime.
