Position Title: Technical eDiscovery Analyst

Civil Service Title: Community Coordinator

Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000

Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for a Senior Technical eDiscovery Analyst in its Information Technology (IT) Department. The eDiscovery Analyst will work closely with Senior Managers, Managers, Analysts, Legal Review Attorneys, instructing case teams, and clients as needed. The primary responsibility of Senior eDiscovery Analyst will be executing technical solutions in adherence to best practices, administering our in-house discovery platform, and supporting platforms provided by third-party vendors. Working under the direction of the eDiscovery Manager to identify and understand client needs, assisting with the execution of the recommended technical solutions and supporting with the delivery of an effective solution throughout the life of a matter.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Processing data in eDiscovery platform (Relativity or NUIX processing experience is required).
  • Running searches across eDiscovery platform to cull for privilege.
  • Creating review batches and coding layouts.
  • Preparing productions and exports for discovery and trial.
  • Be available and responsive to requests.
  • Administering NUIX and Relativity and supporting end-users.
  • Performs related administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Maintaining project files including preparing file notes, memoranda, minutes of meetings, instructions, tracking materials, and communications with the legal teams.


Preferred Requirements/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required; technology-related major preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in the legal field, preferably criminal justice related and/or with eDiscovery experience with a law firm or vendor.
  • Knowledge and skill set necessary for the following applications: Concordance, NUIX, Relativity, Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Relativity Processing Specialist certification, Relativity Certified Administration certification, or Nuix Data Discovery Specialist Certification
  • Deep experience with eDiscovery technology, specifically with Relativity, Nuix and Concordance, with an emphasis on data processing, data ingestion, database setup, searching and productions.
  • Experience related to eDiscovery and other Litigation Support processes.
  • Highly skilled in standard computer operating systems and software (Adobe Acrobat, Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with strong ability to learn new software.
  • Expertise supporting document reviews and case work.
  • Able to manage and resolve problems effectively, dealing confidently and concisely with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Superior organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivator, and able to manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current position and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Looking for candidates that could commit to one (1) year to the hiring Unit.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to \"1\" or \"2\" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in \"1\" above.
