Position Summary
Benson Hill is looking for a passionate and proven Digital Agronomist (Research Associate I) to be a part of our Digital Farming team.Benson Hill has developed diverse varieties with superior nutritional value and strong in-field performancethat create value for growers. We are looking for a data manager, with an emphasis onspatial datacollectiontofuelour proprietary analytics platform. The successful candidate will work across a diverse set of teams across the organization tomeet business objectives and will have a solution-oriented mindset.
You will be responsible for:
Executionoffield scaleexperimentalprograms including thein-fieldevaluation of new Management ofthe collection offarm and field leveldata fromBenson HillR&D and Commercial operationsincluding those coming from new technologies for acquisition of unique data layers(iedrone, weather, soils,etc)
Metricizing completeness and health of enterprise data collection objectives throughout the season
Partnering with internal teams to meet the field testing and data collection needs to support the Technology organization and Benson Hill Business Units'keyoutcomes
Conducting quality control test to verify seed purity
Education and Experience:
Bachelorsdegreepreferred(minimum Associates degree and 3+years of experience) in database management and data collection.
Qualifications:
Experience working in industry setting associated with agriculture
Desire to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environmentwith theability to be agile in the face of change
Excellent planner, organizer, criticalthinker,and problem solver
Strong record of creative and strategic thinking with the willingness to bebold
Exceptional Excel anddatasystemsknowledge
Knowledge of precision mapping platforms and techniques
Ability to travel up to 50% of time during peak windows of the North American growing season
Ability to obtain UAV pilots license
Preferred Qualifications:
Experiencewith platforms such asFieldView,MyJohnDeere,Track, Hobo, Quicksite, andCropTrak
Familiarity with experimental design and basic statistical analyses
