Job Summary:

The Distribution Sales Representative reports to the Area Sales Manager and is responsible for developing and maintaining favorable relationships with current and potential Distribution Channel customers, achieving sales goals of our precast concrete products business and supporting plans to increase the region's sales volume.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Sales and marketing of all Oldcastle Infrastructure precast concrete products, including utility vaults, concrete pipe, culverts, manholes, catch basins and other drainage products.

  • Communicate and execute on strategy and tactics that ensure the attainment of company sales goals and profitability in all markets sold through the distribution channels.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Team to implement and execute regional distributor channel strategy in support of sales goals.

  • Build strong relationships with distribution channel partners in the region and act as a liaison between contractors and distributors.

  • Utilize various software tools to manage prospects, issue quotes and communicate with broader team.

  • Lead opportunity creation and quote follow up for distribution channel related projects.

  • Target and win desirable projects that are aligned with IPG strategy, capacity, and core capabilities.

  • Collaborate with other departments (Quality Control, Production, Operations, Transportation, and Accounting) to ensure accounts receive the highest level of customer service.

  • Actively participate in industry-related associations as required in order to develop and maintain key networking and business relationships.

  • Maintain detailed and current contact notes in Salesforce including sales calls and planning schedule, correspondence, opportunities, and service-related notes.

  • Regularly visits customers & maintains awareness of project opportunities.

  • Strategic partner with internal stakeholders including estimating, project management, engineering, and operations.

  • Advocates for precast at every opportunity.

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Oldcastle Infrastructure's policies, values and strategies. Treats all individuals with respect, maintains high standards of integrity and adapts style to the needs of different individuals and teams. This includes fostering a climate of personal investment and excellence, promoting collaboration and teamwork.


Qualifications/Required Skills:


  • Demonstrate strong business acumen in regard to sales and marketing and/or the civil infrastructure construction market.

  • Ability to read and interpret civil design drawings, and engineering production drawings a plus.

  • Ability to navigate through a Customer Relationship Management platform.

  • Must have ability to travel (approx. 40% +) throughout the sales region, with occasional overnight travel as required.

  • Must have the drive and self-discipline to work independently to accomplish goals.

  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers - both internal and external.

  • Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.)

  • Have a Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

  • Have ability to work with a diverse group of people both within the company and in a sales capacity.


  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills along with strong presentation and negotiation skills. Exceptional interpersonal and listening skills.

  • Ability to apply effective time management and self-management skills.

  • Solid project management and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to lift over 40 lbs.

Compensation:


  • Yearly target salary will be $75,000.00 to $85,000.00

  • Yearly bonus eligible.
