Moran Towing Corporation ( www.morantug.com ) has an exciting opportunity available as a Technical Support Specialist in our Jacksonville, FL office. This full-time, Exempt position reports to the Director, Application Development and Support.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing in-depth technical support for the company's Microsoft Business Central (BC) and eventual Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) system. The incumbent will work across various internal business groups, focusing on supporting the BC and F&O systems' functionalities related to financials, operations, and reporting. The Technical Support Specialist will serve as a liaison between business groups, IT functions, and external vendors, leading the identification and resolution of all issues from basic service questions to modifications and advanced support. This position is also responsible for leading BC and F&O system management, documentation, coordination, strategy requirements, and change management on an ongoing basis.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO:

  • Serves as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding BC and Dynamics F&O.

    • Develops an in-depth knowledge of the BC and Dynamics F&O applications, configurations, and business processes.

    • Creates, maintains, and publishes process and support documentation.

    • Establishes and implements governance oversight to ensure system compliance.

    • Performs root cause analysis on issues to determine course of action, proposes and/or acts on a solution(s), and escalates situations as needed.

    • Reviews system metrics, identifies and develops leading KPIs, and creates associated reports and dashboards.

    • Identifies additional reporting needs, new validation processes, and/or retraining as issues arise.




  • Identifies and resolves internal user issues associated with BC and Dynamics F&O.

    • Takes ownership and addresses all advanced customer support needs from initial contact through final resolution while providing problem solving and training for users.

    • Serves as a primary contact and liaison for the BC and Dynamics F&O systems. Ensures high-caliber, timely communications with internal users, stakeholders, and external vendors.

    • Participates in Change Approval Board to review and assess the impact of any system changes. Confirms steps required prior to implementation of any system changes.




  • Leads communications with external vendors to ensure full utilization of Microsoft BC and Dynamics F&O.

    • Facilitates functional and technical designs of system changes and new or changed processes to ensure decisions made are aligned with current and future business and IT strategies.

    • Manages BC and Dynamics F&O new releases by analyzing impact, coordinating efforts, and engaging appropriate resources for specific testing tasks.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or a related field.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a systems administrator supporting configuration, integrations, service updates, migrations, licensing, end-user, and IT/admin training in an ERP environment such as Microsoft AX/Dynamics F&O.

  • Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to configure the system based on the needs of the organization.

  • Technical functional knowledge in one or more of the following areas: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Fixed Assets or Inventory, and proficient in concepts such as chart of accounts, financial dimensions, operating units, organizational hierarchies, budgeting/forecasting, etc.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting guidelines/principles and financial reporting.

  • Experience supporting Windows-based IT systems and proficiency in SharePoint, Power BI, SQL, Teams, and MS Office.

  • Strong background in business systems analysis, data analysis, design, and implementation.

  • Proven ability to:

    • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Prioritize and work on multiple assignments simultaneously.

    • Work effectively both independently and as an active team participant.

    • Effectively and efficiently facilitate meetings.

    • Deliver engaging training to large, distributed audiences.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with maritime operations and/or system interfacing.
