The Senior Account Supervisor, Brand Purpose? will support the development of purpose strategy on one of Edelman's top national retail clients. This is a great opportunity to help develop and deploy purpose initiatives across an exciting business touching some of society's most pressing issues. As an Sr. Account Supervisor, you will be charged with introducing clients to the power of building compelling stories, experiences, all directed by a confluence of data and leading-edge technology. You'll be a trusted client partner with a deep understanding of their business and the tools we can provide them with. Your internal team will look to you as a leader on day-to-day affairs, and the one who helps connects the dots from brief to execution.

Joining a team of specialists leading Edelman Purpose, the role will focus on: supporting the team in driving purpose strategy across key brands; contributing to impact planning, programming and partnership development; and working closely with the Vice President, Purpose Branding to provide clients with insightful issue analyses, strategic impact recommendations, and business case development. The SAS, Purpose Branding will collaborate with teammates across account and creative teams from strategy through creative development and campaign execution to ensure successful implementation.

Core Responsibilities

Advisory : In partnership with the VP of Brand Purpose, communicate strategic counsel and recommendations along the purpose spectrum (from supply chain to consumer marketing) and across multiple brands and issues

Strategy : Support brand purpose development and impact strategy on key brands through research and insights development

Integration & Implementation : Collaborate with account and creative teams in delivering purposeful creative and activation plans; ensure successful implementation

Education & Team Building : Serve as team lead for internal purpose communications and knowledge sharing

Client Engagement : Provide polished client management and communication, building strong relationships with Brand teams

Operations : Work with account teams to ensure operational performance, ensuring the team delivers quality work and client requests are handled in timely and strategic fashion, adhering to deadlines and budgets

Professional and Business Growth : Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals; contribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organizations


    • Serve as day-to-day contact for mid and senior-level clients, responsible for providing strategic solutions around anything/everything involved in our integrated and high visibility campaigns - social and digital marketing, ideas that drive earned, experiential that drives consumer engagement.

    • Manage multiple urgent projects, with the ability to manage up and down to ensure the team meets deadlines and stays on budget

    • Serve as a main point of contact for integrated agency team partners to ensure alignment on program goals and next steps and that the team is operating in a holistic and coordinated manner - across earned, social, influencer, production, creative, and more - making sure any concerns are flagged and escalated early

    • Lead and mentor junior staff, training them on best practices and identifying opportunities for them to learn and grow by taking on new responsibilities - with the right level of support to ensure client quality is maintained

    • Evaluate programming and ideas to ensure we're hitting client objectives/following client input briefs and that our executions help solve specific business challenges

    • Build trusting client relationships across the brand's organization, navigating client approval processes and structure, including a deep understanding of client "watchouts" we need to avoid across our content and programming

    • Internalize and own client product benefits and articulate in consumer-friendly language

    • Cultivate strong, cross-practice client relationships to develop opportunities to grow business with existing and new potential clients

Basic Qualifications:


    • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in public relations and/or communications-related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing

    • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:


    • Purpose and sustainability experience: Familiarity and passion for purpose and sustainability theory and practice, specifically relating to brand and corporate engagement societal issues

    • Creative and collaborative thinker: Comfort in working with and contributing to diverse, integrated teams to bring creative thinking and solutions to clients

    • Understanding of marketing and earned landscape: Familiarity with the value of purpose in driving in earned attention and engagement in today's media environment

    • Operations: Have experience working with teams to manage timelines, resources, and budgets

$79,000 - $115,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
