Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. We are searching for a Supply Chain Intern to support the Suture Supply Chain Team in Naples. The successful candidate will work close with suppliers on past dues, expedites/de-expedites, open order reports review and approve our international orders. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.

This internship will run from May 2024 - August 2024. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

Take away understanding of purchasing fundamentals such as placing purchase orders, working with suppliers on addressing quality and delivery issues, creating reporting tools, expedite/de-expedite products, review international orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Reviews MRP outputs daily to ensure all required actions are taken - planned orders, expedites, de-expedites cancels, etc.

  • Limits backorders of any assigned parts while communicating backorder information to internal departments.

  • Distributes Engineering Change Requests to the suppliers and review disposition of existing and in-process inventory.

  • Discusses defective goods and services with inspection or quality control personnel internally and externally to ensure corrective action is taken.

  • Creates POs for inventoried purchases.

  • Works closely with Production Manager, Product Manager, Engineers and Master Scheduler.

  • Create reports to monitor inventory outlook

  • This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL ; it is not a remote position.

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Supply Chain. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:


  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Word and Excel (Macros/Pivot tables/Vlookups) required.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Word and Excel (Macros/Pivot tables/Vlookups). Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
