Essential Job Functions

Regularly engage with parents to discuss the progress of their children in our care.
Support the presentation of early childhood programs and assist in organizing special activities, including off-campus field trips.
Implement scheduled activities that cater to the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children.
Develop and execute activities that stimulate cognitive skills and foster development.
Aid in providing nutritious snacks and lunches to the children.
Ensure availability of adequate equipment and engaging activities.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility and equipment.
Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
Facilitate diverse experiences like songs, games, and storytelling for the children.
Create opportunities for adequate sleep and rest.
Foster self-esteem and positive growth in children.
Show genuine care through compassion and kindness in all interactions.
Establish positive routines and offer guidance.
Create a secure and comfortable environment for the children.
Implement positive disciplinary measures when necessary under teacher supervision.
Communicate effectively in a child-friendly manner.
Keep parents updated on program expectations, activities, and their child's progress.
Assist in crafting daily activity plans.
Support in transporting and accompanying children as needed.
Fulfill any other assigned duties with enthusiasm and dedication.

Knowledge of:

Stay informed and compliant with the dynamic regulations from Federal, State, and County authorities governing our vibrant daycare environment.
Be well-versed in our facility's emergency/disaster response and evacuation procedures, ensuring a secure and confident atmosphere for our kids.
Champion safety by embracing and implementing infectious control procedures and comprehensive safety protocols with enthusiasm.

Foster a supportive environment by diligently following abuse reporting procedures, ensuring the well-being of every child in our care.

Working Conditions

Must be able to work with chemicals and cleaning agents
Must be able to bear weight and lift 50 pounds or more unassisted.
Must be able to work safely in an environment containing biological conditions which may be unhealthy or hazardous (such as bodily fluids and waste, germs, childhood diseases).
Exposure to smells associated with toileting and children who are ill.
Exposure to loud noises on a regular basis.
Exposure to a variety of childhood conditions and elements common with a childcare facility.
Must be able to wear protective equipment such as gloves.
Requires constant physical activities including standing, walking, lifting, and bending, stooping, pulling, stretching, turning, grasping and reaching.
Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, thoroughness and quality of work assigned.
Aural acuity to receive detailed information through oral communication, often from small children with undeveloped pronunciation skills.
Requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions with a workload that may be unpredictable and difficult to manage at times.

Safety-sensitive position pursuant to A.R.S. 23-493.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum of 6-months experience with children in a school/child care setting.
16 years of age or older
High school or high school equivalency diploma or current and continuous enrollment in high school or a high school equivalency class; or
Enrollment in a vocational rehabilitation, as defined in A.R.S. 23-501; or
Employment as a teacher-caregiver aide for 12 months; or
Service as a volunteer in a childcare facility for 12 months

Special Requirements

Attend mandatory meetings and continuing education classes.
Obtain/maintain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card at employee's expense.
Obtain/maintain CPR certification specific to infants and children.
Obtain/maintain first aid certification specific to infants and children.
Complete annual Tuberculosis Testing.
Complete required 18 hours of annual training.
Obtain/maintain valid Food Handlers Card.
