JOB SUMMARY
Groundskeepers are responsible for maintaining the existing grounds. The groundskeeper is tasked with providing a pleasant outdoor environment by ensuring that the grounds of the facilities are attractive, orderly, and healthy.

Essential Job Functions

Cultivate and nurture the facility's outdoor spaces with precision, using a range of machinery from mowers to trimmers, creating a verdant and welcoming environment.
Bring creativity to life by contributing to the design and installation of new landscapes, ensuring vibrant lawns and constructing appealing walkways when needed.
Embrace the winter wonderland by efficiently clearing snow from walkways, ensuring safety and accessibility for all.
Craft and maintain the beauty in every detail, from the sidewalks and parking lots to fountains, fences, and benches, ensuring they shine as beautifully as our residents do.
Exercise expertise in plant care by applying specialized treatments to prevent or control pests, diseases, and weeds, ensuring our grounds thrive.
Serve as the guardian of materials and equipment, making timely deliveries, and maintaining meticulous records of work done, materials used, and time spent.
Be the driving force behind the scenes, ensuring a seamless operation by maintaining and servicing all tools and equipment used, always ready for the next breathtaking transformation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:

The use and care of a variety of maintenance, and grounds keeping equipment, mechanical hand and power tools.
The occupational hazards and safety requirements of maintenance, grounds keeping and related trades.
Facility policies and procedures.

Skill in:

The maintenance, construction, installation and repair of grounds keeping work assignments, including layout and estimation and selection of materials.
Safe, effective operation and maintenance of hand and power tools and equipment used in maintenance, and grounds keeping and related trades.

Ability to:

Safely and effectively service, maintain and repair assigned tools and equipment in accordance with standard repair, maintenance, operation and safety procedures.
Estimate material quantities and labor hours required to perform work assignments.
Work independently with little supervision.
Maintain accurate and up to date chronological records and documentation.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associate personnel, personnel in other department and general public.
Fulfill physical requirements of work assignments to include frequent moderate lifting of 25 - 50 pounds, performance of moderate to strenuous manual labor and performing work assignments with the use of tools and equipment in cramped and contorted positions.
Comply with facility policies and procedures.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma/GED.
Minimum three (3) years experiences in the general landscaping/maintenance area.
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications.

Special Requirements

Obtain/maintain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card at employee's expense.
Provide driving record from Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles at employee's expense.
Complete annual Tuberculosis Testing.
Complete required 12 hours of annual in-service training.
Safety-sensitive position pursuant to A.R.S. 23-493
