As our Technical Training Specialist II, you will:


You will design learning experiences to meet the immediate and long-term needs of the organization including but not limited to training, on-the-job training programs, and certification programs. The position will collaborate with internal subject matter experts and external vendors to identify skills gaps and develop/deliver technical training courses and support knowledge sharing programs. They will manage special projects as assigned, provide training assistance in areas of expertise to other employees, as needed. and take care of administrative tasks to keep the program effective.


Essential Functions



  • Act as the primary liaison between management, SME personnel, and trainers to facilitate progress toward the goal of their technical training program.

  • Work with leadership and subject matter experts and use business data to identify and target areas for training and development.

  • Facilitate the involvement of technical SMEs and staff in conducting competency assessments, the development and delivery of training and knowledge programs to close performance gaps.

  • Perform needs analysis, identify learning skills gaps, and develop and deliver technical training solutions.

  • Determine most effective training delivery methodology and performance support tools to minimize gaps and Improve job performance while meeting business needs and yielding the most performance improvement for least time and cost invested.

  • Secure all needed support for a technical skills program, including materials, facilities, and subject matter experts.

  • Work with vendors to facilitate knowledge transfer from consultants to employees.

  • Provide training and competency assessment on new procedures, applications, and tools.

  • Develop and maintain technical training program records within the UKG learning management system.

  • Track, assess and communicate program and trainee progress to department leadership.

  • Maintain reporting of training metrics to establish baselines and on-going analysis of training effectiveness.

  • Assure the maintenance and accuracy of the technical support materials and training courses.



    Other:



    • Manage special projects as assigned.

    • Provide training assistance in areas of expertise to other employees, as needed.

    • Administrative (e.g., e-mails, documentation, etc.)



      To be successful as the Technical Training Specialist II we're looking for: 



      • Bachelor’s Degree (Two years of relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement)

      • Three (3) years of job-related experience in technical, instructional design, training or performance support experience (in addition to degree requirement above)

      • Deep understanding of the systematic approach to training, performance support, and job tasks analysis and assessment

      • Flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities


      Preferred Qualifications: 




        • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management Principles

        • Bachelor’s degree in business-related, or education/training-related field

        • Advanced degree in related field


        Work Environment:


        This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

        • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to make decisions, interpret data, and problem solve.

        • The employee frequently is required to stand or sit for extended periods; use hands to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.

        • The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

        • Requires the ability to work and collaborate with managers and employees at all levels to exchange ideas, information, and opinions to facilitate the task.

        • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.


        Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:


        This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Working extended hours may be required.


        Travel Requirement:


        This position requires minimal travel (approximately 0-15%).
