Job Summary

This role entails comprehensive leadership and technical responsibilities across various facets of IT infrastructure. As a leader, the focus is on mentoring and guiding team members while providing robust technical support. System design and implementation encompass both on-premises and cloud-based solutions, requiring collaboration for seamless integration and adherence to security standards. Management of cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure and Private cloud, is integral, alongside ensuring Microsoft 365 best practices and hybrid Active Directory/Azure AD integration. Contributing to security and compliance efforts, monitoring system performance, incident response, and maintaining documentation and standards complete the multifaceted responsibilities of this role.

Job Duties


  • Cloud Infrastructure Management:


    • Administer and optimize Azure and Private cloud infrastructure.
    • Implement Microsoft 365 best practices, focusing on resource governance.
    • Manage hybrid Active Directory/Azure AD integration, including Single Sign-On (SSO).
    • Support M365 troubleshooting, provisioning, and policy deployment.

  • Leadership and Team Management:


    • Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional growth and development.
    • Provide technical leadership and support for team members.

  • Systems Design and Implementation:


    • Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based systems.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate solutions effectively.
    • Ensure alignment with security and ISO 27001 standards.
    • Provide guidance for developing M365 PowerShell commands and scripts.

  • Security and Compliance:


    • Contribute to ISO 27001 certification efforts with security control implementation.
    • Address security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with standards.

  • Monitoring and Optimization:


    • Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and optimize efficiency.
    • Collaborate on performance management with the Data Storage and Hypervisor Engineer.

  • Incident Response and Troubleshooting:


    • Promptly respond to system incidents, troubleshoot, and implement preventive measures.
    • Collaborate with the IT support team on escalated technical issues.

  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record as a Systems and Cloud Engineer with a minimum of 4 years experience.
  • Experience leading a team or managing direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure & Private) and virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 standards and implementing security controls.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Certified Solutions Architect) a plus.

Competencies/ Skills

  • Proven experience leading a team or managing direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.
  • Expertise in server and software upgrades, including Microsoft O/S deployments.
  • Proficiency across core Microsoft Windows platforms, services, and tools, such as Windows 11 Desktop, Windows 2016 and 2022 Server, Active Directory, Microsoft PowerShell scripting, Exchange 2016 (hybrid configuration), DNS, DFS, and DHCP.
  • Strong troubleshooting acumen.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for both technical and management audiences
