In this exciting role as a Principal Business Process Improvement Analyst, you will be responsible for the implementation of Lean Six Sigma tools and programs to support the deployment of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), a standardized operating system of proven methodologies that eliminates sources of variation that provides consistent and sustainable performance results. The Humacao site has been identified to be the Center of Excellence for metals machining for Medtronic. The implementation of the MPS as the One Best Way standard is a key enabler to achieve this vision.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.



    • Plans, performs, and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma).
    • Diagrams and evaluates existing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
    • Collects data to identify root cause of problems.
    • Measures performance against process requirements.
    • Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.
    • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
    • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement, and control.
    • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes.
    • Communicates team progress.
    • Performs cost and benefit analyses.
    • Provides coaching and supports to site Lean Sigma Certification program for the site.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the use and implementation of Lean Sigma tools

Nice to Have

  • Proven experience working on cost out and capital investment projects.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Project Management Professional
  • Experience leading and facilitating Kaizen events to drive process improvement and cost reductions.
  • Relevant experience with the implementation of Lean manufacturing tools and programs
  • High financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong communication & presentation skills to engage various stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to analyze and present insights from data.
  • Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills, MS Project and Power BI
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
  • Validation experience
