Position Summary: Responsible for efficiently and safely operating various equipment and systems within the yard facility. This position requires proficiency in three key areas: Peeling, Mobile Equipment Operation and Scaling/Inspection. This role will also backup guard duty, QC duties and will provide routine clerical and administrative support.
Peeler:
Operate the pole shaver and related system components in a productive, efficient and safe manner
Ensure productivity and efficiency in the peeling process while maintaining safety standards
Monitor equipment performance and address any issues promptly to minimize downtime
Mobile Equipment Operator:
Operate Wheel Loaders and Forklifts safely and efficiently
Maneuver equipment within the yard to facilitate material handling and transportation
Adhere to operational guidelines and safety protocols while operating mobile equipment
Scaler/Inspector:
Perform scaling, inspection grading and processing of shaved poles for inventory
Conduct visual inspections to assess the quality and condition of poles
Document findings accurately and report any discrepancies or issues to appropriate people
Assist with any facility & equipment maintenance & cleanup:
Recycle spray paint cans properly
Grease the Peeler
Order supplies
Complete paperwork for inbound poles
Clerical & Admin Support:
Accurately check in trucks and document scale by computer
Input data into processing system according to company procedures
Additional clerical responsibilities including filing, etc.
Additional Requirements:
Participate and contribute to company safety program
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to job responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the yard
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries
Perform other related duties as assigned
Shift & Pay Rate
Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm T required at times
$22.30/hr
