Purpose/Scope:
The purpose of Refrigeration Technician is to maintain, diagnose, repair, rebuild, adjust, perform preventive maintenance, and install equipment within and around the facility so as to keep the production operational and have zero loss of production. This individual will perform the duties of a Refrigeration Technician and assist other maintenance personnel on his/her shift and will be responsible for all necessary paperwork and documentation as they relate to the job.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Make rounds and keep logs of daily operations and events for engine rooms and refrigeration equipment. Maintenance and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels, recirculatory equipment, purging equipment, evaporators / RMAUs, heat exchangers, and control valves & isolation valves while using the Original Equipment Manufacturers guidelines. Perform Line & Equipment Opening procedures. Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE usage, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lock out-Tag out procedures and Process Safety Management related items. Operate/monitor the ammonia refrigeration system and monitoring device and Process Safety Management documentation, work order/inventory control. Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components. Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and re-assemble repaired systems. Test lines, components and connections for leaks. Demonstrate strong safety leadership skills and follow safe work practices Work as part of a team to plan and conduct equipment repairs Conduct routine audits and equipment inspections Demonstrate troubleshooting abilities Maintain open and professional line of communication with operations Respond to unplanned/emergency work requests in a timely & effective manner Follow food safety and good manufacturing practices Complete PSM Records, communicate issues with equipment to management when necessary Work with direct involvement with Process Safety Management and Hazmat. Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain site ammonia refrigeration systems Troubleshoot, repair AC/DC motors, and drives, electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase, proxy sensors, and limit switches Day to day maintenance and repair to equipment Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems on production equipment Maintaining a safe plant, meeting all federal, state, and local environment requirements work orders and fill out the daily documentation- Keep designated refrigeration equipment in running condition to minimize down time. Run, maintain, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial refrigeration equipment. Maintain proper operation of all equipment in the facility. Assist with mechanical duties as needed.Complete assigned tasks efficiently with or without direct supervision.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly checks are completed. Ensure responsible area is neat, clean, and safe for operations. Use required PPE and follow all safety guidelines of the Company. Perform other duties as assigned.
