A Detailer specializes in the cleaning and aesthetic maintenance of boats. In boat detailer jobs, you have various duties, including cleaning the boat in detail, applying wax, bottom paint, and working to make the boat look like new.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Washing, waxing and polishing metalPerform tasks such as cleaning teak and compoundingInterior and engine cleaning as neededOperate buffers, steamers, hoses, vacuums and other equipment to meet service expectationsInspect products overall condition so it will be acceptable to the customerTo carry out those duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisorAvailable to work overtime when requiredOther duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related trainingWear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work areaReport all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements
Previous marina experience preferredAbility to ascend and descend a ladderAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to lift 50 poundsBasic boat handling skills a plus
