Job Description:

Job Summary

The candidate will support Diamond Fabrication production operations and engineering activities. The candidate will work with Diamond Fabrication operators and engineering to learn, improve, and implement projects within the department. Projects may consist of process testing, data analysis, use of characterization equipment, database improvements, updating/creating work instructions, and others to assist the manufacturing of Diamond optics.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude to build and assemble equipment, as well as performing process testing with fabrication equipment
  • Use of characterization equipment and analysis to baseline tools
  • Assist with data collection and development in the production environment
  • Assist with database improvements, cleaning up current database and GUI, as well as making additions
  • Work on assigned R&D projects
  • Assist engineering staff with daily projects and duties
  • Learn Diamond Fabrication machine operation and provide support where necessary
  • Support department 5S initiatives
  • Team-oriented, Excellent interpersonal skills, and good communication, both verbal and written


Education & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of course work completed from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science or other applicable college programs.

Working/Physical Conditions

  • Office and manufacturing environment within manufacturing facility
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work with acids and other toxic chemicals.
