ROLE PURPOSE To aid and support the Process Engineers with the goal of implementing continuous improvement to our systems and processes. To observe, study, and report information about our existing systems and processes in order to help the team better understand opportunities for improvement. To conduct regular audits on our critical equipment and gauges, as well as our systems and processes (both new and existing) to ensure that change is not only achieved but maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reoccurring Daily Audits
Audit Down Time (DT) reporting for all machine centers to ensure that DT is being logged, reporting any issues or gaps in the data.
Analyze and report findings/irregularities
Audit Processes to ensure that all new systems/procedures are being followed
Audits will focus on all machine centers that are assigned
Audits at machine centers will be conducted at random and whenever an opportunity is presented
Report submitted weekly, containing findings/opportunities for improvement
Audit gauge use and functionality
Report any gauge malfunctions and/or instances where operator is neglecting to utilize gauges
Continuous Improvement
Participate in Gembas for current target issues (provided by Process Engineers)
Perform studies on all assigned machine centers relative to the target issues
Compile weekly report of findings
Train Operators on any new systems put in place by the Process Engineering Team
Follow up to ensure training is being followed by Operators
Collect signatures confirming training has taken place
Scan and file training signatures in appropriate locations
Act as a first line of defense for empowering our Operators with the knowledge they need to succeed
Answer questions about processes and why they are important
Work with the Operator to find opportunities to make their job easier, and ensure that those changes make it into our standards
Be the first person on the scene whenever there is an issue or an abnormality
Record details about the issue, attempt to identify the root cause
Check to see if we have documentation to prevent and/or deal with the abnormality, create documents if necessary
Ensure that the Team Lead is escalating the issue appropriately
Participate in daily stand up meeting with next shift's Process Tech and Process Engineers (if available)
Deliver relevant information about your shift
Receive new tasks to be completed.
Analytical Lab work
Receiving, labeling, and safely storing samples to be tested
Performing tests needed for analysis of incoming chemicals and products.
Recording results and reporting them
Discuss and answer any questions regarding results or methods used.
Organizing and storing samples in accordance with safety requirements
Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment.
