Position Summary


Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental, Inc.-Milwaukee is seeking a motivated individual to work with us as a Yard Supervisor. This individual would be responsible for oversight of the overall operations, organization, maintenance and housekeeping of the yard and yard equipment. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with comprehensive Benefits package.


Essential Functions



  • Supervises subordinate employees by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy yard environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.

  • Oversee the activities of subordinate employees with the proper handling of inbound and outbound heavy lift equipment and related components.

  • Ensure yard inventory is organized in a manner that maximizes efficiency and productivity.

  • Coordinate with Dispatch Department to ensure yard activities align with job schedules.

  • Monitor and maintain all yard equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills and Experience Requirements



  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as needed

  • Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery; to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity

  • Ability to safely operate complex construction equipment, including forklifts and tele-handlers

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
