Amerisure is adding a new role to support our Claims Department. We are recruiting for a Service Operations Excellence Director. This role will have a 3-day hybrid approach onsite in our Farmington Hills, Michigan office. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing multiple projects to deadlines, strong follow skills, and the vision to align goals with the company and department. 

Summary Statement

A key leadership role responsible for optimizing and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our service operations.  Serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Service Officer and plays a pivotal role in streamlining processes, improving information flow, and driving service excellence across the organization.

Essential Tasks/Major Duties


  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate closely with the CSO to develop and execute strategies for improving service operations, aligning them with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Foster a culture of performance by working in partnership with department leaders to track and manage Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

  • Identify opportunities to enhance service operations, streamline workflows, and eliminate inefficiencies, with focus on improving the customer experience.

  • Act as an integrator, bridging gaps between workstreams and serving as a conduit for communication between the leadership team and the broader organization.

  • Lead and manage special projects ensuring timely completion and successful implementation of key initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain systems for efficient information flow within the department, facilitating data-driven decision-making processes.

  • Identify and prioritize key relationships critical the CSO’s initiatives, supporting them for successful collaboration and outcomes.

  • Assist in refining the CSO’s communications by creating strong written and verbal communication, including the creation of dynamic presentations.

  • Attend leadership meetings, capturing action items, tracking deadlines, and ensuring projects and processes move forward as planned.

  • Proactively anticipate issues that require diplomacy and situational sensitivity, providing solutions and guidance to mitigate potential challenges.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, competitors, and emerging technologies relevant to department operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience.

  • 5 years commercial insurance experience.

  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferred.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated successful ability to lead people and get results through others.

  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to function in a fast paced, highly visible, and changing environment.

  • Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Ability to develop hypothesis around operational performance through analysis of data and metrics

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects from conceptual phase through implementation and testing.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
