The Body Shop Department is an integral part of this Company’s success. The Body Shop Advisor is responsible for working closely with customers and insurance adjusters to see that repairs are completed in a timely manner. They will prepare estimates, schedule repairs, monitor repair orders, and provide excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare wreck estimates and review with customer and insurance adjuster
Help identify additional problems that need to be repaired while doing an inspection with the customer
Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance
Open repair order showing time, cost, and labor estimates and get approval to do the repairs
Write a brief description of the problem on the repair order
Schedule service work to be done and assign to body shop technicians
Contact customer and insurance adjuster about additional problems found, recommend corrective procedure, and get approval for the repair
Review and close repair orders
Explain the work performed and the charges to the customer
Handle customer complaints
Work with the sales department to get new and used trucks ready for delivery
Answer the body shop phone

Be able to analyze complex business problems and initiate multifaceted solutions
Be able to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
Be able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Be able to communicate information and ideas in writing or verbally so others will understand
Be able to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Be able to perform basic math calculations
Be able to interact well with managers and employees
Be able to relate to customers in a positive and professional manner
Must have a valid driver’s license and must meet insurability requirements
Must have a mechanical aptitude

Education/Training or Experience:
High School graduate or GED
Intermediate to advanced computer skills
One year of related experience in heavy-duty truck repairs
