American Axle & Manufacturing has openings for Technical Manager – Electrification Hardware at its Advanced Technology Development Center located in Detroit, MI.
Job duties include:
Leading the design, development, testing and release of new power electronics inverter/converter.
Designing power electronics inverter/converter with IGBT/MOSFET devices for new energy vehicle.
Conducting power module packages design for IGBT/MOSFET used in power electronics inverter/converter.
Designing circuit schematics & PCB layout using Altium Designer software.
Conducting simulation and analysis on circuit design using Ansys Simplorer.
Using Ansys software Q3D Extractor & Ansys Simplorer to do electromagnetic compatibility/interference (EMC/EMI) analysis on the power electronics inverter/converter.
Interfacing with customer representatives throughout the product development cycle to gather requirements, ensure design meets the requirement, and gain approval to use the design in mass production.
Position requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent education, and five-years’ post baccalaureate progressive experience working in the power electronics and EMC/EMI design field in the position of Senior Systems Engineer, Research Fellow, Professor or Assistant Professor, Team Leader, or other engineering position. Five-years’ experience is required in each of the following:
Leading the power electronic design for power electronics inverter/converter.
Designing power electronics inverter/converter using IGBT/MOSFET devices.
Designing IGBT/MOSFET power module packages used for power electronics inverter/converter.
Using Altium Designer software to design circuit schematics & PCB layout.
Using Ansys Simplorer to conduct simulations on the circuit design.
Working with Ansys Q3D Extractor & Ansys Simplorer software to do EMC/EMI analysis on power electronics inverter/converter.
Experience may be obtained concurrently.
