SUMMARY: Responsible for the coordination, successful planning, coordination and execution of Crowley special events and meetings in support of internal stakeholders.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage all pre-event components including, but not limited to venue selection, invitation, and registration. Works closely with vendors and hosts to ensure the highest standards of confidentiality and ethics to protect the business interests and brand. Assists in the development and management of meeting/event budgets. Proactively escalate program issues to management for timely resolution. Provide unparalleled customer service and the customer experience to meeting owners and attendees. Serve as the liaison between contractors, organizers, and management with regards to all facets of the programs and events. Manage multiple projects through budget maintenance and time management. Audits and processes payments related to meetings/events on behalf of business units. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE: 3 or more years of experience in corporate meeting/event planning.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Proficiency with Cvent and Concur required. Proficient with Sabre preferred.

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external business partners. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop changes or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to demonstrate proper safeguarding and handling of sensitive, confidential, private, or proprietary information involving all parties. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of, a team. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, budgeting, and administrative management.

OTHER: Credentialed as a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) is preferred. Spanish language is a plus. Ability to travel up 20%.

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
