Nemours Children's Health is seeking a passionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our Department of Orthopedic Surgery in the outpatient clinic in Milford, DE! This position functions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary patient care team and is responsible for performing direct patient care services in collaboration with an attending physician and assisting with the overall care of the children receiving services in the outpatient setting. This position will be either full time in Milford, Delaware, or split between the Milford location and the Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware, located in Wilmington, Delaware. Initial training will occur in Wilmington, DE for this position.

Responsibilities for this role will include :

• Comprehensive patient assessments including history and physical examinations
• Formulating assessment and treatment plans of pediatric patients
• Ordering diagnostic tests;
• Performing procedures such as pin removal, suturing and suture removal; splinting and cast application and removal; joint injection or aspiration; manipulative fracture reduction
• Communicating with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies
• Educating parents/caregivers on patient condition and plan of care; triaging and responding to phone calls from patient families, physical therapists, insurance companies, and others regarding patient care
• Accurately recording patient information in the electronic medical record
• Communicating effectively with appropriate medical staff for purposes of consultation, referral, and coordination of patient care.
• The PA/NP must be able to work independently as well as part of multidisciplinary team.

• Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants/Current appropriate national certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
• Clear and active license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Delaware/Delaware (or compact state) RN licensure & Delaware APRN Licensure
• Current AHA BLS certification
• 1+years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred
