The Position

Job Summary:

As a Process Improvement Engineer within our global distribution center based in Indianapolis, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, quality, and productivity of our logistics operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement and innovation throughout the supply chain.

Your Opportunity:


  • Identify process improvement opportunities within logistics operations, conducting data analysis, time studies, and value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics operations, engineering, and IT, to design and implement process improvements, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.


  • Lead process improvement projects, managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation and realization of improvement goals.


  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices across the logistics operations.


  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate and engage employees in process improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.


  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the impact of process improvements, identify new improvement opportunities, and report progress to stakeholders.


  • Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement system enhancements or automation solutions to improve process efficiency and accuracy.


  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in logistics process improvement, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to drive operational excellence.


 

Who You Are:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, IT, or related healthcare field; 8 years of equivalent functionally relevant project implementation experience  may be considered in lieu of a degree


  • 4 years of relevant professional work experience


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Preferences:


  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools, such as value stream mapping, process mapping, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis.


  • Experience in leading and managing process improvement projects, with a track record of achieving measurable results.


  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or Tableau.


  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and identify improvement opportunities.


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.


  • Familiarity with logistics operations and supply chain processes, including warehouse management, order fulfillment, and transportation management.


  • Knowledge of automation technologies, such as robotics and warehouse management systems (WMS), is a plus.


  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt or Black Belt) is preferred.
