Regional Quality Engineer at Clarios, LLC

Job Description:

The Regional Quality Engineer - Injection Molding is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of strategies to improve performance through data analysis and standardization of key processes in accordance with the Clarios Manufacturing System. The position focuses on every aspect from inception to delivery and all related systems, structure and processes that impact quality of our product, regardless of function.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, and essential duties required to successfully perform this job.  

 

Key Responsibilities


  • Support the development of quality strategies based on best practices (regional and global), lessons learned and data analysis.


  • Assist plant QA Managers and the BCD facilities Quality Management System.


  • Conduct 3rd party audits as required to reinforce Clarios and plant quality procedures.


  • Drive standard quality data and traceability data recording across division and reporting practices on Key Process Indicators


  • Coordinate and address all escalated design technical issues, supplier issues and/or customer claims from the region and liaise with the battery plants and central multidisciplinary functions.


  • Change management and Launch Support for product/process development teams (PDT / SDT) and manage mold/machine approval process to customer approval with the plants as applicable.


  • Develop project plans for improvement initiatives using 6 Sigma DMAIC process and be a Problem Solving facilitator for customer rejects, scrap events, etc.


  • Review Corrective Action reports for complete root cause analysis and robust implementation of Permanent Corrective and Preventive Actions, when applicable


  • Review results from IATF, Internal and Layered Process audits to prioritize systemic training opportunities and assure look across.to ensure closed loop verification across the BCD.


  • Support the Plant Quality Managers on providing specific quality related training. 


  • Support IBT escalation process between regions.


Key Qualifications/Requirements


  • Experience as a Plant Quality Engineer


  • Minimum 5 years work-related experience in an automotive environment  


  • Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.


  • Effective written and verbal communication & presentation skills


  • Certified Auditor (IATF 16949, desired VDA 6.3, CQI-23)


  • Knowlodge on Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC)


  • Must be proficient in computer use, including Statistical Techniques & methodologies.


  • Good attention to detail, and able to work in a team environment.


  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


  • Ability and willingness to work overtime to meet customer/division needs.
