Job Description:

The Senior Special Investigations Retail Auditor is entrusted with protecting the assets and interests of the BMW Group and must detect fraud and waste that may not have garnered prior attention. The Senior Special Investigations Retail Auditor assists dealer personnel to succeed in ethical retail operations by supporting them to achieve compliance, improve processes and provide an educational experience. If deficiencies are identified, this person will provide customized training to remedy the situation found and educate dealer personnel. The Senior Special Investigations Retail Auditor reviews payment transactions to the dealer, as well as non-payment-oriented concerns, to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures. The Senior Special Investigations Retail Auditor must also ensure compliance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Pub.L. 89-563) and Motor Vehicle Air Pollution Control Act (Pub.L. 89-272) for all vehicle recalls.The Senior Special Investigations Auditor position can be based anywhere in the U.S.. This is a field position.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Complete audits from data development/analysis to audit settlement.

  • Conduct fair, ethical, transparent, and comprehensible audits/reviews. A Retail Auditor believes high ethical standards are the basis to support dealers in conducting business.

  • Prepare audit/review findings and examine dealer records in accordance to BMW Group Policy and Procedures.

  • Ensure that dealer claims and payments are accurate and that any payment or claims submissions are proper.

  • Assess dealer operations and work to help ensure that they run efficiently.

  • Work with the data analytics team to define and develop supporting reports and KPIs for the audit channels assigned.

  • Proactively develop new reports and automation enhancements.

  • Develop and define new audit scopes and channels from the findings of the special investigations conducted.

  • Plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the dealer claims or payments are free of material misstatement, or whether caused by error or fraud.

  • Provide direction and input on audit strategies, execution, and analysis of prioritized areas of focus.

  • Document new processes as needed and update process documentation.

  • Discover all deviations from BMW Group policy and procedure, present such findings to the dealer and
    negotiate/settle all financial recoveries with the dealer.

  • Lead dealer engagement, which include planning executing, directing, and completing BMW/MINI/RRMC/Motorrad audits.

  • Must be able to conduct audits/reviews remotely and/or in-dealership maintaining professionalism at all times.

  • Complete assigned projects as needed.

  • In support of BMW of North America's business objectives, this position requires occasional attendance at a BMW office, but this is primarily a field position.

The pay range for this role is: $91,490.00 - $134,544.00.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of automotive wholesale/retail experience

  • 5+ years BMW Automotive Technical experience or equivalent work experience.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, Data Analytics Preferred

  • BMW Automotive/Motorrad technical certification preferred.

  • Strong Data Analytics skills

  • Advanced Excel knowledge
