Our purchasing department is responsible for providing the BMW Group with products and services at the best possible quality / total cost ratio on a long-term basis. Purchasing aims to improve BMW Group's competitive position by being professional, committed and capable colleagues, who cooperate with internal and external partners on the basis of trust.
The Buyer role is responsible for the procurement of goods, aftersales parts and supplier services in a cost effective manner with consideration of quality, sourcing reliability, sustainability, meeting the requirements and needs of his/her process partners with the adequate priority.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform cost/price negotiations by using cost-/price analysis.
Support the internal customers (commodity/project related) in projects up to 2M EUR
Provide user support within the multiple purchasing channels (Purchy Chatbot, Askpurchy ticketing system, vendor management and reports)
Arrange and negotiate all projects, to include high-volume projects.
Compliant documentation according to local law and BMW Group guidelines
Utilize local purchasing systems and reports.
Update purchasing data bases and systems, e.g. with supplier data, market data.
Align with other Regions within the Americas for project bundling opportunities.
Participate in Cross Functional Team projects representing local market.
Actively engage in Center of Competence meetings for applicable commodities.
Achieve the KPIs and targets given by central department.
Support the reliability, quality and performance of the suppliers and improve the suppliers together with support from the business departments regarding technical aspects.
Support, in close cooperation with legal and other departments, that all contractual and commercial issues of the potential contract are addressed.
Prepare and present presentations for central purchasing organization based on project volume.
Conduct industry analysis meetings with vendors.
Create, amend, and audit purchase orders-based purchasing guidelines.

The pay range for this role is: $86,084.00 - $101,275.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
