Job Description:

Job Objectives: 

Underwrite and grow a portfolio of environmental liability insurance products through strategic business relationships with wholesale and retail brokers. Using your business acumen, ability to analyze data, and critical thinking skills to develop pricing and negotiate terms and conditions to build a profitable book of business. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        Underwrite environmental insurance products including site pollution liability, contractors’ pollution liability, and contractors’ pollution/professional policies working with both retail and wholesale brokers.

·        Negotiation of policy terms and conditions while adhering to Allied World Environmental Underwriting Guidelines and Procedures.

·        Execute a broker distribution strategy to generate new business opportunities and service existing accounts.

·        Prepare quotes, binders, referrals, and underwriting file documentation in compliance with company guidelines.

·        Develop and manage positive and effective working relationships with a commitment to service for all associates (brokers, insureds, and internal personnel) leading to high customer satisfaction.

·        Coordinate and conduct regular marketing calls, account stewardship meetings, and events to promote Allied World product offerings.

·        Participate in local professional organizations, and remain current and engaged with existing and prospect insureds and brokers on key developments in the marketplace.

·        Continue professional development through relevant training courses, continuing education, and/or seminars.

 ·        Three (3) or more years of experience in environmental underwriting, environmental consulting, environmental health and safety, or environmental risk analysis.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders.

·        Ability to provide superior customer service to our brokers and insureds.

·        Strong analytical skills with the ability to make underwriting decisions and recommendations.

·        Strong business and relationship management skills to develop new business opportunities, retain renewal accounts, and establish strategic broker relationships.

·        Excellent organizational, time and desk management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload.

·        CPCU, ARM, or environmental related designations a plus.

·        Undergraduate degree required.

·        Approximately 15-20% travel required.
