We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Sr Principal Designer with a track record of creating exceptional user experiences. As a Principal Designer, you will work across all products and collaborate closely with design, product and business owners, to shape the future of our news offerings. You will be responsible for designing and leading the execution of high-quality, user-centered design solutions that meet business goals and user needs.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with business owners to understand business objectives, identify opportunities, and create effective design solutions that drive impact

  • Lead the design of end-to-end user experiences for news products, including research, ideation, prototyping, and validation

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, data scientists, and content strategists, to ensure designs are executed effectively and to the highest standards

  • Partner closely with product and engineering teams to drive innovation and push the boundaries of what's possible

  • Champion user-centered design principles and ensure designs are grounded in user insights and data

  • Mentor and provide guidance to other designers on the team

  • Influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across the organization

Qualifications:


  • 8+ years of experience in user experience design

  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates your expertise in designing successful user experiences

  • A deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Experience leading design projects and teams, and a passion for mentoring and coaching other designers

  • A track record of delivering high-quality, innovative design solutions that meet business goals and user needs

The compensation for this position ranges from $160,965.00 - $349,885.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
