Medtronic Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) seeking an Senior Quality Engineer to join the MCS Operations Quality team to provide support on-site day to day production needs. This support includes working with cross functional teams to resolve non-conformities. Navigate Quality system process documents and records while providing support during regulatory audits. Perform risk analysis (FMEA) and support as specialist of the Triage process. Will also be involved in supporting key department metrics to contribute to achieve the organizational goals.

This position is in Miami Lakes, FL. within the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) operating unit and requires on-site presence three days a week.

A Day in the Life

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer r ole. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Leads team through technical, logistical, and problem solving and resolution through the Corrective Preventive Action system. Assesses issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

• Leads team which uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect or test incoming, in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies.

• Prioritizes schedules based on product introduction and manufacturing schedules, maintaining a minimum turnaround time.

• Makes recommendations for capital expenditures and manpower for inspection area.

• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

• Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures, and standards.

• Communicates with stakeholders and obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems .

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Engineering and/or Quality or advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or technical field with 2+ years of relevant work experience in Quality and/or Engineering

Nice to Have

• Exposure to quality engineering best practices and timely resolution of nonconforming product issues.

• Demonstrated track record of communicating effectively with internal and external employees, customers, and vendors regarding ongoing operations.

• Uses information exchange, influence, and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of supporting functions.

• Familiarity with medical device regulations and good manufacturing practices

• Experience with VADs

• Six sigma green belt or black belt certification.

• Experience assessing, processing and approving supplier or manufacturing changes.

• Knowledge on root cause investigation and management supplier corrective and preventive actions.

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.

Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary depending on job-relatedknowledge, skills, and experience .
