Sr. Manager, Cost Optimization at Clarios, LLC

What you will do

This position is responsible for leading and executing a key pillar of the global Core Products Business Unit growth strategy. You will collaborate with regional engineering, operations, commercial, and finance leaders to identify a design enabled cost reduction roadmap leading to significant margin enhancement and cost competitiveness. In this role you will develop the long-term strategy, set targets, and actively participate in regional VA/VE workshops and the regions’ cost reduction programs. Critical to your success will be the ability to communicate a growth mindset and impart a culture of speed and discipline.

How you will do it

· Own the development of product cost reduction strategy and drive “strategy to action” with a clear roadmap of regional initiatives that meets or exceeds business unit targets.

· Collaborate with Application and Core product engineering leaders in conjunction with regional Cost Reduction leaders and finance to identify, vet, prioritize and execute product design-enabled cost reduction initiatives across the product life cycle.

· Work with BU and regional executive leadership to establish Cost Savings Targets and KPIs.

· Globally track and measure the impact of Cost Savings initiatives and report to senior leadership.

· Influence and engage cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization to gain buy-in and drive a culture of cost-consciousness and continuous improvement.

· Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to product cost management and reduction strategies.

What we look for

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.

· Minimum of 7 years broad-based experience spanning product engineering, finance, operations management and/or program management.

· Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives, influence stakeholders, and lead cross-functional, cross-regional teams.

· Demonstrated, effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to effectively lead and interact with internal teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.

· Demonstrated ability to lead by influence.

· Analytical mindset with ability in financial analysis and business case development.

· Travel expectation is 25% globally, HQ, regions, and plants.

Preferred

· In-depth knowledge of the Clarios’ Core Products portfolio, launch and innovation processes (Power D3 / ITP), Change Management, Target Agreement Process (TAP), and manufacturing operations.

· Experience preferred in Automotive Tier 1, Product Design, APQP, Quality Operations, and/or Manufacturing Plant Processes

· Experience in Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE)
