The Ascend Learning Healthcare Segment leads the way in innovation and solution creation to improve outcomes and deliver results for students, educators, and healthcare workers in the ever-changing field of healthcare. WHAT YOU'LL DO


Ascend Learning is hiring a Test Developer. This position is responsible for creating, maintaining, and editing assessments for Ascend Learning. The Test Developer must ensure that each assessment meets the specifications defined by stakeholders while also ensuring product quality and on-time delivery. Coordination across various departments is required to develop content, ensure content validity, communicate progress, and resolve issues. The Test Developer must maintain the company’s internal database and records to create and deliver assessments. The Test Developer is also responsible for beta testing assessments for quality and end-user functionality.


WHERE YOU’LL WORK


This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location. Remote will be considered within the continental United States.


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME



  • Use an internal database to create and maintain assessments (high stakes, low stakes, and certification) to predetermined specifications while meeting established deadlines and coordinating with cross-functional teams, including psychometrics, content experts, media development, and project management.

  • Coordinate and lead Item Review meetings with content experts while transcribing the input of content experts, navigating an internal database, ensuring that everyone stays on task, and accounting for all test requirements.

  • Responsible for documenting assembly tasks in detail, building tests, performing testing in a production environment, and coordinating to ensure that all issues are resolved before final product release.

  • Copyedit products to ensure consistency with company standards.

  • Understand the various steps within the test development process, why they are performed, and when they should be modified. Use this knowledge to contribute to process modification and/or the resolution of customer support inquiries.

  • Assist manager to coordinate with IT teams to create, test, and release new functionality, prevent incidents, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Provide administration and management of internal databases.

  • Prepare pretest items and perform pretest rotations as needed to maintain bank health.

  • Analyze assigned item bank and identify item development targets for content experts.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED



  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Two years’ editing experience required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using available resources

  • Desire to take accountability of projects and quality

  • Effective communication skills

  • Knowledge of editing and proofreading

  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and thoroughly

  • Aptitude for organizing and prioritizing work while directing own activities

  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
