Position Summary

Thales requires a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern who will be responsible to analyze, define and validate process improvement for Personalization center using Lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern, you will be working on projects to assist the manager to improve production processes onsite.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Analyze the current manufacturing processes in place.


• Define opportunities for improvements.


• Propose and present improvement projects that will support our manufacturing processes.


• Put in place control processes that will ensure the compliance with our manufacturing standards for quality, Security and HSE.


• Support the new product introduction in collaboration with the Production and Industrialization departments.


• Ensure the optimization of the production work in place and define new action in order to
  
  
  • Guarantee safety of the employees
  
  
  • Improve ergonomics(accessibility, load handling, movements)
  
  
  • Minimize manufacturing lead times
  
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Engineering Degree (in process).


• Technical knowledge on Mechanics, Electronics or manufacturing processes.


• Technical knowledge on methodologies like SMED, PDCA, 5S, LEAN.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: Onsite, North Kingstown, R.I. Site Core Hours Monday-Friday, etc.

Physical: This position requires occasionally lifting 10 lbs, as well standing for an average of 4 hours daily and short distance walking on our manufacturing shopfloor.
