About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer, who is knowledgeable and experienced in test automation and manual testing.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) practices and techniques. The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior communication skills and the ability to serve as a coach and mentor to junior team members. Must have experience working in Agile scrum teams and managing work through a platform, such as Jira.

As the Quality Assurance Engineer, you will analyze the quality of applications developed or being developed in the Cloud. This will require specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. You will interpret internal or external business issues and recommend best practices. Solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. You may lead functional teams or projects.

You Will:        


  • Perform automated and manual testing according to a test plan.

  • Execute automated and manual test cases to verify functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Develop test cases and test scripts for enhancements and new features.

  • Participate in developing test strategies, test plans and test estimates.

  • Identify defects and proactively communicate them to the project team.

  • Translates existing scripts into automated tests through the review of test plans, business requirements, functional requirements and technical specifications using flow diagrams or other methods to clarify requirements.

  • Design, development, and maintain integration testing suite to ensure reusable common components meeting quality and security standards.

  • Ensure that test plans properly align with business requirements and are kept up to date.

  • Develop configurable, maintainable, reusable, and dependable test automation components.

  • Execute test plans, records and reports results, assists with analyzing test results, and provides root-cause analysis for problems encountered during testing.

  • Prepare and acquire test data, conducts peer reviews of test work products.

  • Assist with setup and maintenance of test environments; developing and maintaining metrics related to software testing and ongoing application performance; implementation, upgrades, and training of automated test management tools; research and evaluation of testing tools and frameworks; planning and development of test strategy and plans; and analyzing test process automation strategy and framework.

You Have:


  • Experience with automation testing frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, etc.)

  • Experience performing manual and automated testing in the Cloud

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and auditing automated test methodology and QA standards

  • Experience with Test Driven Development

  • Experience Developing test strategies, identifying testing gaps and reviewing QA metrics

  • Working knowledge of test case management and execution using test management tools

  • Experience performing functional, non-functional and regression testing for web applications

  • Proficient developing and executing test scripts for web applications

  • Experience with multiple software development methodologies such as Agile, Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development

  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Knowledge and experience with programming Languages (Java, Python, AWS CDK)

  • Experience with performance testing, a plus

  • Experience with low code/no code testing tools, a plus (AccelQ)

Notes:

This position may be filled at various levels based on candidate's qualifications as determined by the department.

This role allows for the employee to work in a hybrid manner with some work conducted onsite at the Federal Reserve work location and some work conducted remotely. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
