Under the direction of a Program Manager the Intake Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the intake process for new clients trying to access services through open access. These services include but are not limited to; utilizing screening tools, scheduling assessments, maintaining screening logs/records, coordinating referrals, document encounters within the electronic health record, complete admission paperwork, and provide information about our services to the general public. Candidates need to have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must also be able to work effectively in a group dynamic.

How will I contribute
Manage the intake process for new clients including screenings utilizing tools per Kings County Behavioral Health P&Ps, logging screenings and completing all necessary documentation in the EHR, scheduling/re-scheduling Mental Health assessments in coordination with Intake Clinicians, and complete, submit, and log necessary and clinical appropriate referrals. Provide information about our services to clients, families, and referral sources. Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth transitions for clients into programs. Complete documentation on same day as service or within 1-3 days of service. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client intake information. Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes. Assist with admission paperwork, as needed. Collaborate with other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to clients. Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required. Maintain tracking log for all screenings. Complete four hours of cultural humility training per year. Achieve basic competencies in using our electronic recordkeeping system. This includes but is not limited to effective use of Scheduler, Dashboard, and creation of progress notes/contact notes. In the course of performing job duties follows all Kings View policies and procedures, administrative directives, all relevant county, state, and federal regulations, and any performance obligations contained in the Kings View program contracts with other entities. What I bring
High School Diploma (or Equivalent) 2 years experience working with the homeless, mental health, substance abuse population, or related. Class C Driving License Required Knowledge of how to work effectively in harm reduction environment. Knowledge of cultural and socio-economic factors that inform service provision to persons with mental health and cooccurring disorders, and community resources that will be utilized by clients Effective data entry skills using various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data. Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain to consumers, family members, friends, and professionals the case and care plan. Organized and have ability maintain good case records/logs. Critical thinking and problem solving to determine the best care plan for each after screening. Ability to react appropriately to emergency situations. Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team. Familiarity with and adherence to compliance with the code of conduct and the requirements of the compliance program that are elements of performance evaluations and conditions of employment Action oriented. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities. Outstanding ability to follow-through with tasks. Flexible and reliable. Compassionate and able to relate to different consumers with various needs Bachelor's degree in behavioral science or related Preferred Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
