Overview


We are looking for a dynamic manufacturing Construction Project Manager to lead efforts for new construction to our Viskase Loudon, TN plant. The ideal candidate will handle the entire construction phase including overseeing, supervising, and managing the Viskase Loudon facility construction project. This includes but is not limited to, safety of all employees, foundation and building renovation, equipment and structural construction activities, personnel risk management, drawing and permit documentation, new equipment installation, etc. This position reports to the overall Project Manager.


This is a contract role with a duration of 12-15 months and is located at our Loudon facility near Knoxville.


Essential job functions


Assist with the administration and execution of site project including, but not limited to:



  • Ensure all activities are performed in a safe manner, including establishing daily contact with each subcontractor.

  • Manage worksite for new machine construction as well as building remodeling projects, coordinating activities and ensuring that all work is in sync with project goals and objectives.

  • Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork to ensure that quality standards are being met.

  • Collaborate with engineers, procurement, and other project team members; work with procurement to hire full- and part-time subcontractors and laborers and coordinate their schedules.

  • Be present onsite the majority of the time during construction – including preconstruction walks, in-progress work review, and project start-up and close-out.

  • Establish and attend all status and coordination meetings.

  • Prepare and manage labor estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.

  • Identify, mitigate, and track construction issues. Work to prevent recurring construction issues.

  • Respond quickly and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project conflicts.

  • Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements.


Education and Requirements 



  • BS Construction Management or related degree

  • Certifications in Construction Management and/or Project Management Professional

  • Ideally at least 10 - 15 yrs. experience managing and executing industrial construction projects from inception to completion.

  • Managing all construction vendors, labor, budget, project teams

  • Ensures entire project safety adherence.

  • Experience must include managing projects including construction processes, cranes, modifications, cement foundations, structural steel, electrical and instrumentation, labor contractors, etc.

  • Collaborative with Project and internal Viskase teams.

  • Must have recent AutoCAD experience, MS Project, and MS Office Suite

  • Permitting and Documentation
