Scope: 

The Summer Intern program provides college students with the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the overall business unit objectives.  In addition to the assigned projects, Interns are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage networking with peers, managers, and employees. 

Job Summary:

The Communications Intern will support CooperCompanies’ corporate communications efforts, helping to create awareness about the life-changing work being done across Cooper—and how we’re caring for patients, our employees, the environment, and communities around the world. 

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:


  • Support global (“OneCooper”) employee communications for 15,000+ employees across CooperCompanies, CooperVision and CooperSurgical

  • Implement creative campaigns that highlight the many employee engagement, Inclusion & Diversity (I&D), professional development, and community impact efforts that make Cooper an Employer of Choice 

  • Partner with HR to create an Employee Resource Group (ERG) onboarding experience for new members and a New Hire onboarding experience for new employees     

  • Develop content for our corporate website and social media channels

  • Support the CooperCompanies intranet(s) from a content and platform management perspective 

  • As business needs dictate, may work extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently and meet deadlines

  • Excellent project management, organizational and follow-through skill set

  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations

  • Familiarity with social media platforms

  • Willingness to learn

  • Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint 

  • Professional demeanor

Work Environment:


  • Professional office setting

  • Willing to report to work in the San Ramon, CA office.

  • This is a paid internship

  • Prolonged sitting in front of a computer

Experience:

•     Not required, but prior Internship experience is a plus.

Education:


  • Current college student entering their Junior or Senior year

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $26.50 and $30.25 and may include cost of living adjustments.  The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.  This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
