Work Schedule

100% FTE, 40 hours per week.  Scheduled shifts are Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. This position is a mostly remote role with the expectation to attend some meetings in person.

Support the efforts of all DEI initiatives within the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the #1 hospital in Wisconsin.

We are seeking a Program Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to: 


  • Function as a DEI business partner and serve as the link between the Department of Pediatrics (DOP), Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH), and the UW Health/SMPH DEI Office.

  • Ensure the DOP and DFMCH receives the necessary support from the DEI office for the intentional implementation of all UW Health and SMPH DEI strategic priorities.

  • Engage with the DOP and DFMCH leaders to achieve outcomes related to DEI identified priorities and objectives by chairing the DEI committees and participating in leadership meetings. 

  • Function as lead administrator for DEI initiatives within both departments.

Education:

Minimum – Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, social work, healthcare administration, industrial engineering, or related field.

Preferred – Master’s degree in a relevant subject area

Work Experience:

Minimum – 


  • Three (3) years of experience with implementation of DEI learning initiatives and programming, including assessment, planning, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Project management, and DEI facilitation with all levels of leaders within an organization.

Preferred –


  • Experience designing and implementing equity-lens-based curriculum, DEI learning and facilitation, and supporting faculty and employees from historically marginalized communities

  • Previous experience working with HR

  • Experience in DEI facilitation and organizational and leadership development.

  • Experience in a large academic or complex health program focused on providers

Licenses and Certifications:

Preferred – DEI certificate program and/or adult learning and professional development certificate
