Position Summary:
The Director, Global Tax, will provide global leadership for strategic tax planning and management of tax department functions for this multinational, publicly traded, flooring company. The position will report to the Vice President, Tax & Treasury. Mohawk is a market leader that has engaged in significant growth internally and through acquisitions. Responsibilities include:
Handle or supervise all facets of corporate tax matters including:
Tax planning and research to achieve corporate goals and adjust to the changing global tax environment.
Analysis of proposed and actual tax law changes
Mergers and acquisitions analysis and integration
Automation of tax processes
Manage a total of 2 direct reports with roles in planning, tax accounting and compliance.

Candidate Profile:
CPA or attorney with Big 4 experience, industry experience and MST or equivalent.
15+ years relevant international tax planning experience, with a working knowledge of international tax compliance and provision.
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of taxation on a global scale
Proficiency in business issues and the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to non-tax personnel.
Cost effectively direct and manage external advisors.
Communication and leadership skills with the ability to be viewed as a trusted advisor.
Self-starter able to identify issues and desired outcomes and effectively manage projects from planning/design through implementation.
Ability to work with Finance and other departments to implement tax projects in coordination with business objectives.
Ability/willingness to travel up to 20%
