Job Title: Footwear Design Intern - HOKA Lifestyle

Reports to: Design Director / Sr. Footwear Designer

Location: Portland, OR*

* Approximate Dates of this Internship are March/April 2024 through June/August 2024.

The Role

The HOKA Design Intern is a passionate self-starter with creative abilities that will assist our Footwear Design team and the Design Director with product true to the brand DNA. The Design Intern will support the HOKA Brand by contributing to footwear creation, product graphic/color/material selection, and explore trend/themes relevant to the season. The Design Intern will support the team with original and creative thinking, as well as project-specific work for the season. A strong candidate for this role is filled with curiosity, detail-oriented, and an adaptive problem solver. You will be led and mentored by our Senior Designer and be accountable to deliver a completed assigned project at the end of the internship.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

• 1. Provide creative design thinking and visual communication for assigned projects.


• 2. Work collaboratively with Design, Product Development and Product Line Management.


• 3. Assist designers with ideation, presentations, and tech packs.


• 4. Research trend, a wide range of consumers and develop project-related insights and concepts.

• Ability to translate and conceptualize from 2D to 3D


• Presentation skills that are clear and compelling supported by communicative sketches and renderings


• Experienced and skilled in Adobe Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)


• A strong sense of product and graphic design (portfolio of sample work required with application)

$20/hr

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
