The Maintenance SME will assist Maintenance Supervisor and Area Managers with scheduling the maintenance of all plant systems and help ensure the plant and facilities run efficiently.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain area equipment.
Respond to production requests for immediate attention to production issues and problems.
Troubleshoot plant systems as necessary.
Identify problem areas and address with permanent solutions.
Contact contractors to schedule repairs and installations.
Install new software and/or machine codes.
Involved in new equipment selection for entire plant operation.
Ensure that upgrades are performed on existing equipment.
Communicate and work with area department managers to address issues/problems with operating systems.
Maintain department communication to ensure continued efficiency of work.
Maintain and monitor the preventative maintenance program to make sure equipment is serviced with its recommended time frame.
Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors the maintenance personnel needed to repair machinery.
Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
Train and mentor maintenance personnel to expand department knowledge.
Ensure that all outside contractors are following all expected company policies and programs when performing work at the plant.
Projects and plant needs may require hours to be adjusted.

The pay for this position is $32.85. All offers will be based on a candidate's skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
Required Education and Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or commensurate experience.
One year of maintenance experience or more.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
Ability to read/understand electrical/mechanical drawings.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree.
Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes.
Broad depth of experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
SAP experience.
Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM.
Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
Working Conditions
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
• Use of motor skills to safely drive tow motors or other motorized vehicles in tight quarters.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
