Gage Technician Core Responsibilities:

• Perform inhouse calibrations of all applicable gages


• Turn around broken gages from production as quickly as possible


• Maintain excellent record keeping of all calibration measurements


• Execute Gage R&R studies, when required


• Train production staff on proper use and care of shop floor gages


• Continually identify areas of improvement and develop plans to implement

Gage Technician Job Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum 3 years experience in a gaging or inspection position.


• Can demonstrate understanding of blueprints, including GD&T.


• Can demonstrate proper usage of hand instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gage blocks.


• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.


• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, & Outlook.


• Strong written & verbal communication.


• Ability to multitask with attention to detail. Bachelor of Science in applicable engineering or science field preferred, however candidates with relevant equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred:

• Technical degree or mechanical background


• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems in automotive manufacturing


• Mechanical drafting, AutoCAD, and/or Inventor a plus


• Interpersonal/ Organizational Skills


• Build effective relationships with team members and production staff


• Prioritize and manage a complex workload that is subject to last-minute changes


• Readily understand and communicate gage problems and gauge requirements
