Responsible for overseeing the complete set up and registration of State, Local, and Federal taxes, ensuring timely processing, accuracy and compliance with all Federal and State regulation. Additionally, responsible for monitoring, reconciling payroll taxes as well as working with Tax agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and reconcile payroll taxes at the employee and employer level for Both US and Canada; register for new tax jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with timely and accurate reporting of all payroll taxes.
  • Conduct research, analysis and resolutions to payroll related tax notices and inquiries; audit tax fallouts.
  • Review/Prepare Tax reconciliation and correct any tax discrepancies.
  • Review Ceridian Tax Services reports, analysis and problem solving audits.
  • Assist with year-end processing and reporting of W2's/T4 and other government reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with Ceridian on Tax Filings, W2/T4, and any tax amendments required.
  • Support the processing of Taxable Benefits and external tax audits as necessary.
  • Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of progressive payroll experience or accounting qualification
  • Thorough understanding of payroll tax filing principles and related tax laws; Canadian Tax Knowledge is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Multi-State taxation
  • Working knowledge with working with tax agencies to set up State and Local registrations ID's
  • Strong organizations, analytical research problem solving abilities, detail oriented
  • Ability to manage workloads to strict reporting deadlines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in payroll and accounting, Workday and Ceridian Dayforce or similar Payroll products, processes, procedures and systems
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
