Job Summary

Determines the resources necessary to ensure an uninterrupted supply to support production and sales.

Job Duties


  • Analyze Customer releases, projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan with a times-phased build schedule.
  • Schedule demand based on the product mix and provide accurate commitment dates to customer service team across multiple product lines.
  • Understand capacity management relationship to MRP. Manage work center input and output loading. Resolve differences between workstation loads and available capacity Measure the utilization and efficiency of workstations.
  • Identify current planned level of demand and create tactical production plans to meet the identified customer demand. Calculate production lead times.
  • Analyze production floor status through input/output control reporting.
  • Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning, master scheduling, materials requirements planning, and production activity control.
  • Assist in determining and ensuring the quality of materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to maintain adequate levels of material (raw, work in process and finished) to manufacture the product.
  • Manage outside processors and ensure timely delivers to support production.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy in the system.
  • Review Customer releases on a weekly basis and adjust forecasts based on Customer requirements.
  • Work to resolve materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics.
  • Assist in finding new suppliers when needed.
  • Backup Materials Planners as needed.
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.).
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

  • Perform work under general supervision
  • Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
  • Typically require a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience
