The Industrial Controls Technician is the final escalation point within the Maintenance Department for issues around PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, Motor Starters, Industrial Controllers, and automation controls that cannot be resolved by an Industrial Maintenance Technicians.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve the most difficult and complicated issues. The position will recommend
Perform upgrades to obsolete equipment and assist with the installation of new equipment.
Develop, enhance and execute documented procedures, focusing on real-time analysis and troubleshooting of escalated issues
Provide training and mentoring for the Maintenance Team. This position will also
Work with Project management, Engineering, and Process Engineers.
Essential Qualifications:
3-5 years troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment in an industrial environment
Programming of PLCs and HMIs
Preferred programming experience with the following:
Allen Bradley, including:
ControlLogix, SLC, MicroLogix, PLC-5 controllers
RSView32, FactoryTalk View ME & SE HMIs
ControlNet, DataHighway, DeviceNet Communications
PowerFlex Drives
Siemens STEP-7 PLCs and Sinamics Drives
Parker AC and DC drives is a plus
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or Bentley Microstation is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, and Modbus
Working knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance systems
Experience with verifying field wiring, instrument checkout, motors, electrical systems maintenance, PID tuning, commissioning of PLCs, control systems, networks, drives and evaluating equipment performance.

Education:
Two-year Associate Degree in related field or equivalent Military Training
